Why do it?
Paragliding offers an experience of complete freedom and pure joy.
It is the recreational and competitive adventure sport of flying paragliders: lightweight, free-flying, foot-launched glider aircraft with no rigid primary structure. The pilot sits in a harness suspended below a fabric wing comprising a large number of interconnected baffled cells. Wing shape is maintained by the suspension lines, the pressure of air entering vents in the front of the wing, and the aerodynamic forces of the air flowing over the outside.
Despite not using an engine, paragliders flight can last many hours and cover many hundreds of kilometres, though flights of one to two hours and covering some tens of kilometres are more the norm. By skillful exploitation of sources of lift, the pilot may gain height, often climbing to altitudes of a few thousand meters.
Where do we do it?
This adventure you can experience in beautiful landscape only 2 hour drive from Tarifa – it is a great idea for a day trip. One of the best areas in the world for paragliding, with the best views – The Sierra de Lijar. The pilots are Paragliding Sports Technicians with extensive experience in the sector with passion for what they do, so if they enjoy, they will make you too.
Is it safe paragliding? It is very safe. Obviously this is still a risky sport, but flights tandem minimize that risk. What do I need to fly? Actually, nothing, just like it. You do not need any special physical preparation, or need a great team, and a course (or more), or anything like that.
