Why do it?
On one of those warm calm days with flat seas take a boat trip out to the middle of the Straits where the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea meet to enjoy Tarifa whale watching.
You’ll normally see a high concentration of marine mammals such as Pilot whales, Sperm whales, Orcas and Fin whales as well as 3 species of dolphins.
Where do we do it?
To enjoy whale watching in Tarifa there are several companies offering trips. The skippers are well trained and follow a code of conduct designed to minimise any disturbance to the whales and dolphins.
In briefings before the boat trip, experts will provide you with information on the cetaceans in English, Spanish, German, French and Italian.
When can I do it?
Daily excursions take place throughout the year dependent on sea conditions.
Anything else?
Whales and dolphins are encountered on 98% of the trips, but in the rare event that none are sighted, you can go again for free on another scheduled boat trip.
