Why do it?

Once upon a time, a long time ago, surfing was a hippie sort of Sport; dropouts everywhere embraced it making the rhythm of the ocean the drumbeat of their alternative lives. Not any more; surfing is accessible to everyone, from 8 to 80 and anyone in between!

If you’ve ever ridden a wave, be it on a surf board or body board, it will become an unforgettable experience and for many a life changing one!  The world opens up to further exploration and priorities can change overnight.

Kelly Slater once said “Surfing, it’s like the mafia; once you’re in, you’re in.  There’s no getting out.”

Whether you want to catch your first wave, trying to take your surfing to the next level, or just in the need of more information about surfing in Tarifa  – we can help you.

Where do we do it?

At the beach, that will provide us the best conditions at that day! Usually lessons take place at El Palmar beach, the most renowned surfing beach in Southern Spain. Westward facing it constantly receives Atlantic swells from low pressures out to sea.

Beginners lessons take place along the 10km long beach from El Balneario in Tarifa town to Punta Paloma – wherever there’s a wave. Intermediates and others with some more surfing experience might want to try out the El Palmar beach or head to Barbate River.

When can I do it?

The best surfing months are between September and May.  In the summer the water is warmer and the air temperature averages 27 degrees, however consistent swells are less frequent. But we will find a spot for you, where you will be able to have fun on the waves!

Anything else?

All equipment, foamies, surfboards, wetsuits, laughter and fun are included in the price. We offer lessons in Tarifa and in case of no waves here you can choose a day trip to El Palmar – transport and snacks included.

Bring plenty of sunscreen, water and energy!
